Founded by five families from the Central Valley, the foundation for the association that we know today began with a meeting around a kitchen table in June of 1999.
Known originally as Fresno Area Down Syndrome Society, our first official organization meeting was held in August of 1999. In September of 2009 the name was changed to better represent the large area the organization had grown to serve: Fresno, Kings, Tulare, Madera, Mariposa and Merced Counties.
