Since 1999, the Down Syndrome Association of Central California (DSACC) has been providing educational programs, support groups, (an adjective here would be good) resources, and social opportunities for individuals with Down syndrome, their families, medical providers, educators, and the community at large. It is our mission to enhance the quality of life for all people whose lives are touched by Down syndrome.
We serve an important role in the Central Valley- working with families from a prenatal diagnosis through old age; we serves as a tour guides on their journey raising an individual with Down syndrome. We provide parents with resources, support and community connections. We offer individuals with Down syndrome opportunities at all ages to meet new friends, to learn independence and confidence, to gain practical experience in building relationships, to develop skills to stay safe in an ever-changing world, and to become a valuable, more integrated member of their communities. There is no other organization in our area solely dedicated to supporting the Down syndrome community, and we rely on the support of people like yourself to continue this vital and unique mission. Step Up for Down Syndrome is a Timed 5K timed run, 1 Mile Awareness Walk and Festival to be held on October 19, 2019 at the Clovis Rodeo Grounds. Every dollar raised at this event stays local. Your donation directly supports local individuals and families touched by Down syndrome, and serves to raise awareness about the unique gifts and contributions people touched by Down syndrome make to our community. Now is your opportunity to STEP UP and make a difference.
You will find the different sponsorship opportunities on the following page. We are asking for a written commitment by September 1, 2019 (deadline to be included in the brochure is June 1, 2019, and payment no later than October 10, 2019.
